Music from a Simpsons episode- where Lisa goes to a jazz club and theres a violinist.anyone know the song?

Jazz Talk
roxy asked:

I can’t remember the scenario very well, but there is an episode of the Simpsons when Lisa is depressed about playing the saxophone and she goes to a jazz club and at the club there is a violinist playing a jazz tune, and afterwards Lisa talks to the violinist outside the club, and the musician tries to give her advice then goes afetrwards “Gee, I hope that sound like a sellout” or something like that….
Now does anyone know what song it was that the violin player was playing??? Coz I have searched high and low on the internet for any clue but as I don’t know which episode it was i am at a total loss as to how to find this peice of music…..
Any ideas?????

Don’t know the song, but I know the episode. At least this way you can rent it and find the song.

    “Lisa, the Simpson”
Seventeenth episode of The Simpsons’ ninth season. The episode first aired on March 8, 1998.

Lisa tries to solve a brain teaser, and she fails. She also cannot solve a proper math question, and loses her saxophone technique. These things point to evidence that Lisa fears she is losing her gift of intelligence. When she tells about this to Grampa, he tells her that all the members of the Simpson family—including himself, Homer, and Bart—started smart at first, but later became dumber, as part of the Simpson Genes. Eventually, Lisa becomes dumb like the rest of the family, but she rejects her newfound idiocy.

She goes to the town’s jazz club, aptly named “The Jazz Hole”, and watches a jazz violinist perform. Someone nearby says: “It sound like she’s hitting a baby with a cat.” Lisa replies, “You have to listen to the notes she’s not playing. The man replies, “I can do that at home.”
And then after the show, Lisa approaches the violinist and says, “Great set!” The violinist replies, “Thanks. I thought I played too many augmented 9ths.

That’s the scene you want… Good Luck!
