A French/Jazz music is coming out of my computer. Is this a virus?
mfelicio asked:
My computer is playing a music that sounds like French or Jazz, and i don’t know where this is coming from. I don’t have any music player open, and never heard this annoying music before. My computer is also oppening the windows explorer automatically. Is this a virus?
The music is repetitive (type of a mid file) and it plays even when i have no browser or any other program open.
I think what’s creating it is a file called msnmsgrlive.exe, which is not related to the MSN Messenger at all.

Two theories: Are you using any wireless components, especially speakers? I used to have a rock band, and one time while we were rehearsing, a radio station began interferring and playing music over our speaker system. The good side of it was, we started playing along and added a new song to our repertoire before we fixed the problem. A lot of electronic amplifiers now come with built in radio filters. Weather, Earth atmospheric conditions, even the Sun can cause interference. Your problem could be a similar interferrence from a radio station, so, unless you want to learn a new song, try repositioning your speakers or computer.
The other possibility, which is probably less likely, is having more than one browser window open and the music is coming from a Web site in the background. It could even happen when you have your e-mail program open that allows html images and audio to be processed.
